She wrote Positive Affirmations for The Melanin Soul as an outlet to express her feelings and work through mental obstacles that spill over into her day-to-day life.
Positive Affirmations for The Melanin Soul is a journal containing strategies that were helpful in getting through some of the most difficult moments of her life such as depression, anxiety, and the fear of failure. It is a tool in which both women and men can be creative and channel their emotions through the power of writing.
Shanice always struggled with expressing her feelings and thoughts. Being able to write it all down and seeing all her stressors on paper allowed here to navigate towards her goals and put unclear thoughts into perspective. This journal helped her to take charge of her life after the pandemic. When Shanice not working, she can usually be found spending time with her husband and two kids or globetrotting.
