Shanice Dillon holds a bachelor’s degree in public health from SUNY Old Westbury and a master’s degree in health administration from Hofstra University. She is a first-time author whose passion for uplifting her community and empowering women through shared experiences inspired her writing.
Throughout her career, Shanice has demonstrated a strong commitment to public health and health equity. She has helped New York City-based non-profits secure grant funding to support underserved communities. Currently, as a Strategic Partnership Manager at one of the most innovative language services companies in the United States, Shanice builds and nurtures relationships to enhance access to language services for patients with limited English proficiency in healthcare settings. Her work also involves fostering collaboration with healthcare organizations and white-label partners.
Shanice’s dedication to health equity is evident in her professional pursuits, including her current initiative to develop a supplier diversity program. This program aims to empower minority-owned businesses by providing opportunities to become vendors for major companies, driving economic growth in local communities.
As a wife, daughter, and mother, Shanice understands the challenges life can bring. Her journal, Positive Affirmations for The Melanin Soul, was born from a deeply personal journey. The journal offers creative strategies to navigate life’s difficulties, including depression, anxiety, and fear of failure. Through this outlet, Shanice shares the tools that helped her overcome mental obstacles and gain clarity during some of her most challenging times, particularly after the pandemic.
The journal is designed as a resource for both women and men, encouraging creativity and emotional expression through writing. Shanice hopes it serves as a guide for others to take charge of their lives, just as it has for her.
When Shanice isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children or exploring new destinations.
